Donations worth VND12.5 billion boost anti-pandemic efforts in Hanoi
VOV.VN - Various agencies, businesses, and other benefactors on May 27 donated more than VND12.5 billion to the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), Hanoi chapter, to help bolster COVID-19 prevention and control efforts.
Expressing appreciation for the support provided by benefactors, Nguyen Lan Huong, chairwoman of the VFF's Hanoi chapter, said the assistance will support anti-pandemic forces operating in the capital.
She also noted that vaccination is a best way to prevent people from being infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and to do this Hanoi requires VND1,500 billion to carry out the programme.
During the hand-over ceremony, Huong called on agencies, businesses and individuals to stand shoulder to shoulder with Hanoi and other localities in the COVID-19 fight, in a joint effort to bring the pandemic under control and ensure life can return to normal.
At the event, Huong handed over 2,000 test kits to the Hanoi Centre for Disease Control, along with 2,000 rapid test kits to the Hanoi Oncology Hospital worth VND735 million.
At present, the VFF's Hanoi chapter has received a total of VND43.1 billion, including VND39.5 billion in cash, along with a large number of essential goods worth VND3.6 billion.
It has provided VND7.5 billion in cash to support pandemic prevention and control activities.
