Development Bank of Latin America applauds Vietnam's hosting of P4G
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s hosting of the 4th Summit of the Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) in April is a strong testament to the international community’s recognition of the country’s commitment to transformation as a contribution to motivating nations to join hands in pursuit of green and sustainable development.

During a recent meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Vu Trung My, Executive Vice President of Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) Gianpiero Leoncini, emphasized that Vietnam has all the necessary conditions to become a model for sustainable development. With its strategic position, dynamic economy, and commitment to green growth, Vietnam is set to achieve rapid economic progress in its transition to a low-carbon economy.
Upon receiving the invitation to attend the P4G event from Ambassador Vu Trung My, First Vice President Gianpiero Leoncini, on behalf of the CAF leadership, expressed his sincere gratitude for the invitation extended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son. He also wished Vietnam great success in organizing the 4th P4G Summit and in its continued achievements in green and sustainable development.
During the meeting, Ambassador Vu Trung My noted that as one of the founding members of P4G, Vietnam has actively and responsibly participated in the forum, closely coordinating with other members to advance the agenda, vision, and mission of P4G. As the world's only public-private partnership platform for green growth, P4G aims to realize global goals for sustainable development, green transition, and climate change response.
Furthermore, My highlighted that Vietnam is one of the first three developing countries in the world to join the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) with the International Partners Group, committing to ambitious targets for greenhouse gas emissions reduction and the development of renewable energy to replace coal-fired power.
Regarding the upcoming 4th P4G Summit, scheduled to take place from April 16-17 in Hanoi, Ambassador Vu Trung My stated that, in addition to the multilateral conference, Vietnam will also organize a broad array of bilateral activities with high-level delegations and meetings with top leaders of international organizations.
The Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) was established in 2017 as an initiative by the Danish government, evolving from the Global Green Growth Forum (3GF).
P4G is regarded as the world’s leading forum for promoting public-private partnerships, connecting governments, businesses, and socio-political organizations to devise breakthrough solutions for green growth, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
P4G primarily supports partner countries through public-private partnerships, offering financial and technical assistance to small and micro enterprises in their climate change response efforts.
The most significant activity of P4G is its biennial summit. To date, three P4G summits have been held: in Denmark in 2018, virtually in the Republic of Kore in 2021, and in Colombia in 2023.
