Devastating pictures as fire destroys Hanoi buildings
VOV.VN - A large fire on September 17 caused devastating losses for residents living at De La Thanh Street as 19 houses caught fire and at least six were completely destroyed.

| The first house caught fire at approximately 6pm and just 30 minutes later, the blaze had spread to eight nearby houses. |

| According to initial statistics, 19 houses located near the National Hospital of Pediatrics caught fire, and 31 households and 100 local people were seriously affected. Luckily, no fatalities were reported but there was huge damage to property. |

| Although the fire has been extinguished, residents have not been allowed to return home as the police are still examining the scene. |

| It took firefighters several hours to put out the blaze. |

| Currently, the scene of the fire is still barricaded. |

| The intense heat of the flames destroyed all of the low-cost accommodation that poor patients and families lived in. |

| The city’s People’s Committee have arranged for them to stay in a cultural house in Ngoc Khanh Ward, Ba Dinh District. |

| There is nothing left but wreckage after the destructive blaze. |

| The initial cause of the fire is thought to be a short circuit. The incident is still under investigation. |
