Deputy PM Minh meets Vietnamese media

At a January 20 meeting in Hanoi ahead of the Lunar New Year, Deputy FM Minh said the media has properly and speedily covered the external relations activities of the Party and State as well as coordinated with the relevant agencies to promote the nation’s image to the outside world.

More importantly, the press and diplomacy have worked together in the interest of a peaceful, stable environment and in the cause of the protection of the national sea and island sovereignty.

He said he hopes the media will continue to uphold its responsibilities and professionalism and cover external relations activities of the Party and State in 2017, when Vietnam will host the APEC summit.

Representatives from media agencies acknowledged strengthened connection and effective cooperation between the press and the diplomatic sector.

They pledged to continue fostering the partnership in 2017 to contribute to the national development.
