Dengue fever cases on the rise in Binh Dinh
VOV.VN - The southern province of Binh Dinh has reported 2,670 separate cases of dengue fever since the beginning of the year, according to Nguyen Van Trung, deputy director of the provincial health department.
In recent weeks, an additional 12 outbreaks of dengue fever have been detected, leading to a total of 259 new cases. As of this April, the number of dengue fever cases in 2019 have been equivalent to 80 per cent of the entirety of last year which saw 3,219 cases.
In order to cope with the complicated developments of the epidemic and to prevent it from spreading, the provincial health department has directed relevant agencies and medical stations at grassroots levels to reinforce preventive measures against the disease.
The medical sector has also co-ordinate efforts with other localities to disseminate information aimed at raising public awareness about the disease.
In addition, localities have becoming active in getting involved in eradicating mosquito larvaes and spraying disinfectants in affected areas.
The provincial medical sector has also asked units to equip facilities with chemicals to take drastic measures if necessary that could contribute to preventing the spread of the disease.
