Da Nang sets up specialised teams to combat dengue fever
VOV.VN - The central coastal city of Da Nang has set up mobile teams in the fight against the dengue fever epidemic with the number of cases continuing to rise due to a range of complicated developments.
During the first three weeks of July, the department also was forced to admit nearly 250 cases of dengue fever.
The six-month period saw up to 1,300 patients suffering from dengue fever hospitalised for treatment, a six-fold increase in comparison with the same period last year.
Doctor Truong Thi Hoa of the Tropical Medicine Department stated that the number of dengue fever patients with severe symptoms such as vomiting and a high fever has increased sharply in recent times.
Residents should remain vigilant with regard to the disease, especially amid hot weather conditions.

Despite the city launching a campaign to eradicate mosquito larvae, the number of cases of dengue fever has continued to increase amid complicated developments.
Nguyen Tam Lam of the Da Nang Centre for Disease Control said the centre has set up two mobile teams in a bid to combat the epidemic.
Each district will have its own mobile team which has been set up and given medical equipment along with a sufficient quantity of chemicals to eradicate mosquito larvae.
