Cuc Phuong National Park receives rare, endangered animals

The Centre for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Creatures under the Cuc Phuong National Park announced on October 1 that it has received many endangered and rare animals from several northern provinces and cities.

A man in Kien Xuong district of Thai Binh province voluntarily handed over two white-rumped sandpipers (Anthracoceros albirostris) to the centre on September 29.

The centre, in collaboration with the forest management department of Hai Phong city and the forest protection station of Hai Duong province’s Hai Duong city, persuaded people to voluntarily hand over five toothed turtles and one long-tailed macaque.

All of these animals belong to IIB group in the list of endangered and rare species priorised for protection under the Government’s Decree 84/2021/ND-CP. They are being cared for and rehabilitated at the centre before being released back to nature.
