COVID-19: Vietnam records 10 more imported cases

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health (MoH) on January 14 confirmed an additional 10 coronavirus cases returning from overseas, bringing the country’s tally of coronavirus infections to 1,531.

Among the new patients, two are Austrian experts, an Israeli expert, and a US student. The remaining six are Vietnamese citizens, the ministry said in its 18.00hrs update.

These patients entered to Vietnam on different flights from Dominica, Austria and the US, transiting through Singapore and the Republic of Korea.   

They were placed in quarantine as soon as they landed at airports in Vietnam, posing no virus risk to the community, said the MoH.

They tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus and were immediately transferred to restricted areas of health facilities in localities for medical observation and treatment.

As of 18.00hrs Vietnam has recorded a total of 1,531 coronavirus cases, including 838 cases retuning from epidemic hit countries.

Of the total, 1,369 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospital after making a full recovery.

The number of deaths caused by COVID-19 and related underlying health issues remains at 35.
