COVID-19: Vietnam confirms five more imported cases
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health (MoH) on January 12 confirmed five more coronavirus cases who are Vietnamese citizens returning from abroad.
The citizens were quarantined in separate facilities as soon as they landed in Vietnam through air terminals in Hanoi and Khanh Hoa, and via Moc Bai international border gate in Tay Ninh.
They tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus on January 12 and were immediately transferred to health facilities in Hanoi, Phu Yen and Tay Ninh for medical observation and treatment.
Vietnam has so far confirmed 1,520 coronavirus cases, including 829 imported cases returning from epidemic hit countries.
The country has gone through 42 consecutive days without a new locally transmitted case.
According to the Ministry of Health, Vietnam has cured 1,361 out of 1,514 COVID-19 patients. Of the remaining cases, two are critically ill and 25 have tested negative for the virus at least once.
The country has also registered 35 deaths caused by COVID-19 and related underlying illnesses.
