COVID-19: Ten imported cases raise national total to 1,377

VOV.VN - Vietnam’s infection tally rose to 1,377 after the nation recorded a further ten imported case of COVID-19 on December 8, including nine, all Vietnamese, having recently arrived from Russia and Japan and one of Turkish nationality from Turkey, according to the Ministry of Health.

The newly registered patients were put into isolation immediately upon arrival and they are now under health observation for treatment at local hospitals.

Of the country’s total cases at 1,377, 693 individuals contracted COVID-19 locally, and 684 infections are imported into the nation.

The number of recovered patients has reached 1,224, while the fatality count due to COVID-19 remains at 35.

Among those still receiving treatment, 17 have tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at least once, with many testing negative multiple times.

At present, there are more than 20,260 people who came into close contact with registered cases, or who have recently returned from pandemic-hit regions are under quarantine across the country.

The Ministry of Health advised people to continue following strict pandemic containment measures in order to live safely with the COVID-19 pandemic in new normal.
