COVID-19: One imported case recorded, total hits 1,521
VOV.VN - A 27-year-old Vietnamese woman entering Moc Bai International border gate was the only COVID-19 case recorded in the nation, the Ministry of Health reported on January 13.
The new case brought the national tally of COVID-19 to 1,521.
Currently the patient is isolated for treatment at Tay Ninh Provincial General Hospital after her test result came back positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at the Center for Disease Control of Tay Ninh province on January 12.
Of the total infection figure, 693 are locally transmitted cases, and 828 are entrants from abroad.
Among patients under treatment, 11 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, 13 twice and 11 thrice.
The same day, the subcommittee for treatment reported that an additional 8 coronavirus patients have been given the all-clear from SARS-CoV-2, boosting the total number of recoveries to 1,369, whilst the number of deaths related to the disease remains at 35.
A total of 17,555 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or arrived from pandemic-affected regions are staying in quarantine across the nation.
