COVID-19: No new cases detected, tally remains at 1,046

VOV.VN - After confirming two coronavirus infections on September 2 evening, Vietnam has registered no new cases during the past 36 hours, therefore keeping its tally at 1,046.

The country has recorded 691 community acquired infections, including 551 cases detected since July 25 when the virus resurged in Vietnam’s Da Nang city. No imported cases have been announced over the past 36 hours.

As many as 755 out of 1,046 patients have been discharged from hospital after making a full recovery.

The remaining 256 cases are receiving treatment at health facilities across the country, with 99 cases having tested negative for the virus at least once.

Currently, 6 of the active patients are in critical condition and two of them are at a high risk of death.

So far 35 coronavirus cases have died in Vietnam, and they are all tied to the Da Nang outbreak.

Most of the deaths were elderly people who suffered from serious diseases such as end-stage chronic kidney failure, end-stage blood cancer, coronary syndrome, acute respiratory failure, polyarthritis, hypertension, diabetes (Types 2), sepsis, pneumonia, and multi-organ failure.
