COVID-19: National COVID-19 infection tally registered at 1,402

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health on December 14 confirmed an additional five fresh imported cases of COVID-19, taking the nation’s overall number of infections to 1,402.

The five latest patients, all Vietnamese citizens, returned the nation from Angola, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. They were immediately placed into quarantined upon their arrival and now are under medical observation for  COVID-19 treatment at local hospitals

On the same day, five other people were announced to have fully recovered from the virus, thereby increasing the number of recovered cases to 1,246, with the total number of fatalities remaining at 35.

With regard to the latest infections, the country’s overall number of COVID-19 cases has climbed to 1,385, including 693 local transmissions and 692 imported cases, all of which were immediately placed into quarantine upon arrival.

Among the positive cases currently undergoing treatment, 20 individuals have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 at least one.

Furthermore, as many as 19,992 people who came into close contact with COVID-19 patients, or those who entered the nation from pandemic-hit regions, are in various quarantine camps based nationwide. This includes 209 individuals at hospitals, with the remainder being placed into concentrated quarantine facilities or at their places of residence.
