COVID-19 death toll rises to 28 as patient passes away in Quang Nam

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health announced on August 26 the death of a 36-year-old man who had been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus in Quang Nam province, increasing the country’s novel coronavirus (COVID-19) death toll to 28.

The dead patient had been a resident of Dong Phu town in Que Son district of Quang Nam province. Indeed, the causes of his death include severe pneumonia caused by COVID-19, complications of irreversible multiorgan failure, toxic septic shock, end-stage chronic renal failure, heart failure, and hypertension.

The latest death marks the 28th local COVID-19 fatality since the virus recurred in the nation in late July, following a period of no deaths during the initial wave of the virus.
