VOV.VN - The Central Highland province of Da Lak has imposed social distancing and locked down a number of streets in Buon Ma Thuot City, after three local residents returning from the Da Nang coronavirus hotspot were infected with COVID-19.
The measure took effect from August 3 and is to last until further notice, according to a decision endorsed by the provincial administration on August 2.
Local residents are advised to stay indoors as much as they can, and only to go out for food and medicine or other essential services.
As of August 2, local authorities and medical workers began to lock down four streets in Buon Ma Thuot City, the capital of Dak Lak province, where the patients live.
The city has set up four concentrated quarantine camps that are capable of accommodating hundreds of people.
Approximately 7,000 people in Dak Lak have been quarantined against the virus, including 157 people at concentrated quarantine facilities, 67 at medical centres and nearly 7,000 at home.
