COVID-19: An infection from Philippines takes Vietnam’s tally to 1,307

VOV.VN - Vietnam on November 22 registered another imported case of COVID-19, bringing the country’s tally of coronavirus cases to 1,307, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said in its 18.00hrs update.

The new patient, a Vietnamese citizen living in Binh Dinh province, returned to Vietnam from the Philippines on board the flight VJ2527 on November 19, according to the MoH.

The 29-year-old passenger was quarantined in Tien Giang as soon as the plane landed at Can Tho International Airport, southern Vietnam.

He was transferred to a field hospital in Tien Giang for medical observation and treatment after testing positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the COVID-19 disease.

As of 18.00hrs November 22 Vietnam has recorded a total of 1,307 COVID-19 cases, including 1,142 recoveries and 35 deaths.

The remaining 130 patients are in stable health condition, with 25 having tested negative, said the MoH.

Vietnam has gone through 81 consecutive days without a locally transmitted case being detected.
