COVID-19: 10 imported cases bring national tally to 1,226

VOV.VN - Vietnam registered 10 further cases of COVID-19, all imported, raising the national count to 1,226, the Ministry of Health said on November 10 afternoon.

Half of the newly detected patients are Vietnamese returnees and the remaining cases are German and Russian experts. All the new cases come from the US, Japan, Singapore and Russia.

Currently, the patients are put into isolation to undergo treatment at local hospitals after they were diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Earlier in the morning the same day, the country also confirmed one imported case from Angola, thus bringing the total figure of the day to 11.

With the new infections, the nation’s total COVID-19 cases amounted to 1,226, including 691 local transmissions, 551 linked to the outbreak in Da Nang, the nation’s COVID-19 epicentre since July 25, whilst 535 cases were imported and put into quarantine immediately upon arrival.

Among the positive cases currently receiving treatment, 39 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 at least one, while 1,087 have fully recovered from the virus and more than 15,420 people are in quarantine nationwide.

With the country's COIVD-19 tally now standing at 1,226, 35 coronavirus patients have died as a result of severe chronic diseases and COVID-19 related complications.

The country has gone the 69th day without any single case of local transmission.
