COVID-10 claims two more patients, 66 fatalities in total
VOV.VN - The Treatment Subcommittee under the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on June 20 confirmed two COVID-19 related fatalities in the northern provinces of Vinh Phuc and Bac Ninh, bringing the death toll caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus to 66.
The latest deceased patients were a 53-year-old man and an 80-year-old man who have died after infecting with COVID-19 and other underlying health issues.
The man from Vinh Phuc, who had the comorbidities of cancer and hypertension, tested positive for the coronavirus while undergoing treatment at the Hanoi-based K Hospital.
The other from the northern province of Bac Ninh had suffered hypertension and kidney failure. He had tested positive for the coronavirus on May 25.
Both patients passed away on June 19, with the diagnosis of septic shock, ARDS pneumonia due to COVID-19, hypertension, renal failure, multi-organ failure, heart failure, and bronchial asthma.
Since the new coronavirus wave attacked the nation nearly two months ago, Vietnam has recorded a total of 31 COVID-19 related deaths.
