Consulates General, foreign firms assist COVID-19 control fund
VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City chapter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) on July 15 received large sums of money and goods donated by several Consulates General and foreign enterprises in support of the southern city’s COVID-19 prevention and control fund.
Of the total donated, US$20,000 was given by the Consulate General of Japan and the Japanese Business Association in Ho Chi Minh City, VND3.5 billion was donated by Lee Kang-woo, general manager of Lotte Properties Thu Thiem, whilst 50,000 face masks and VND220 million were provided by the Consulate General of Thailand and Thai Business Association in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, 25,000 face masks came from the Consulate General of Cambodia, whilst VND750 million and 506 vitamin products were given by Jiji George, managing director at Mega LifeSciences Pty. Ltd. Vietnam.
During the event, To Thi Bich Chau, president of the HCM City chapter of the VFF, expressed her gratitude for the donations.
She called on the entire community to continue contributing to the country’s ongoing pandemic prevention and control efforts, pledging to allocate the funding and goods to the right people, for the right purposes, and in line with the law.
