Conference discusses development of human resources in semiconductor industry

VOV.VN - A scientific conference was held on October 29 in Fukuoka in Japan as part of efforts to discuss innovation and development of human resources occurring in the semiconductor industry in Vietnam.

The purpose of the event is also to enhance the transfer of technology and expertise taking place in the semiconductor manufacturing industry from Japan to Vietnam, whilst supporting the development of high-quality human resources in the Vietnamese market, as well as improving the overall production and research capacity in the semiconductor industry in the country.

In her opening speech, Vu Chi Mai, consul general of Vietnam in Fukuoka, emphasized that innovation represents a key factor in boosting the strong development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam and enhance the country’s overall competitiveness internationally, noting that co-operation between the two countries in this field is extremely meaningful.

Dr. Tanimoto Jun, executive vice president of Kyushyu University, said the semiconductor industry has become increasingly important and strategic, adding that the Japanese side is in the process of accelerating research and development activities in this field.

He stressed that the Vietnamese side has become an important partner for Japan in the semiconductor industry, especially as many Vietnamese students and graduate students are studying and researching the field at Kyushyu University. The workforce will therefore play a crucial role in the semiconductor network of both countries, he noted.

Currently, the semiconductor industry is strongly developing in the Kyushu region and Fukuoka prefecture with about 1,000 companies, which in turn will prove to be important partners to contribute to the take-off of the Vietnamese semiconductor industry in the future.
