Commuter train slams into passenger bus, catches fire in Vietnam

VOV.VN - A commuter train was quickly evacuated after it caught fire after slamming into a passenger minibus Friday (May 26) at a railroad crossing in the city of Tuy Hoa, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

The bus driver allegedly ignored the warning signals when he crossed the rail tracks and was rammed by the train piloted by Nguyen Dinh Sang on the North-South route at roughly 3:58am.

Miraculously, there were no serious injuries reported in the fiery crash even after the train dragged the 16-passenger mini bus nearly 200 metres down the railway from the point of impact.

The fire was quickly extinguished and the train continued on its route after several hours of repair work.

No charges have been filed at this point, said police, who are continuing their investigation into the accident.
