Committee inspects Quang Nam’s anti-corruption
The Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption will inspect the supervision of Quang Nam’s all-level Party Committees over the combat against corruption in the locality.
During its working trip to the province from September 19-30, the committee’s delegation will also examine the detection, investigation and settlement of corruption cases of competent local agencies.
The recovery of corrupted assets, especially those relating to economic cases, as well as coordination between competent local agencies in this field will also be subjects to the inspection.
Phan Viet Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Quang Nam provincial Party Committee, said that the provincial Party Committee’s Home Affairs Board has teamed up with other competent agencies to review and make a list of 26 serious and complicated cases.
Quang Nam has proposed the National Assembly soon issue a law to protect corruption whistle blowers and amend the Penal Code.
The locality has also suggested the Government amend and supplement the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 67/2007/QD-TTg on regulations on gift presentation and acceptance.
Government Inspector General Phan Van Sau, who led the delegation, said Quang Nam province has basically implemented instructions and guidelines of the committee and handled serious corruption and economic cases of public concern.
He reminded the locality to frankly look into weaknesses and limitations to better the work.
