Chung Ang University Hospital donates medical equipment to Quang Ngai

Chung Ang University Hospital in Seoul, led by general director Dr Kim Song Deok has donated US$18,000-worth of medical equipment to the central province of Quang Ngai's healthcare sector.

Through Chung Ang University Hospital’s and Doosan's Q-Health programme, which began in 2009, free medical exams and medicine have been provided for 25,000 local residents of Quang Ngai and Quang Nam provinces. The programme has also provided surgical treatment for cleft palate, cataracts, and heart diseases for 82 patients, 19 of whom were children sent to the Republic of Korea for advanced treatment.

Yoen In Jung, CEO of Doosan Vina, said during the medical equipment donation ceremony, "Health, education, and housing are the three essential elements that Doosan Vina thinks are needed to develop a sustainable community. 

The mission of Doosan Vina's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme is to "help build a healthy community," and to do so, Doosan Vina is committed to providing healthcare, education, and housing, these are the core principles of the company’s CSR activities as well as our business philosophy that are keys to a sustainable society."

Addressing the event, Chairman of Quang Ngai People's Committee Tran Ngoc Cang noted the contributions and continued support of Doosan Vina and Chung Ang University Hospital have transformed the Vietnamese healthcare sector.

They have also provided intensive training for medical staff, internship training in the Republic of Korea at Chung-Ang University Hospital, and a host of other initiatives to deliver quality care for the people of Quang Ngai.
