Chinese national arrested for illegally entering Vietnam
VOV.VN - Border guards operaring in Kien Giang province said on August 4 that they had previously arrested a Chinese man for attempting to illegally enter the country.

This comes after border forces were patrolling Hon Mot area in Bai Thom commune of Phu Quoc district on August 3 when they detected a Chinese national attempting to enter the nation illegally.
The suspect was later identified as 50-year-old Li Hai Shen, who confessed to having travelled to Ha Tien bus station on July 31 from Ho Chi Minh City before taking a freight train from Ha Tien to An Thoi port. Shen had then carried on his journey from An Thoi towards Cambodia over the subsequent two days.
After successfully arriving in the neighbouring country, Shen hired a Cambodian national on August 3 for a fee of VND1 million to take him back to Hon Mot in Bai Thom commune, although the pair were apprehended by border guards on route.
In addition to the detection of the illegal Chinese national, four Vietnamese men who had been hired by an unnamed local person to pick Shen up from Hon Thom were also detained.
The group are now undergoing a period of self-isolation at home, while the Chinese national has been put into quarantine at a health centre in Phu Quoc before being handled in accordance with the law
