VOV.VN - Celebrities Pham Huong, Le Hang, Diem Huong, Ung Hoang Phuc and Bao Thy take a break on November 13 to run in the – California Star Run – to help give kids in Vietnam a strong start at life.

Running is a vital part of my health regimen, but running for a cause is much more meaningful, says model Pham Huong.

I’m thrilled to run in this year’s California Star Run, says Miss Huong, a charity committed to giving kids a brighter future.

The event provides top celebrities from all the arts the opportunity to take on a personal challenge while raising funds for needy orphans at the Can Tho Children Sponsor Centre.

The team of celebs arrive at the Can Tho Water Park in the early morning hours of November 13 along with more than 2,000 other runners on target to raise more than US$5,500 for the orphans.

Le Hang says before the race that she is not targeting a time to beat, but just wants to run a healthy and happy race.

At the closing ceremony, Dean Ramos, a representative of the organizer says the California Star Run meets its target, raising US$5,500.

The event closed with brilliant performances by singer Bao Thi of his three hit songs Around the World, Give Me Your Love and Single Lady.
