Can Tho takes care of Agent Orange victims

The Association of Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho has carried out many significant measures to support victims of Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin. 

In the 2011-2015 period, the association implemented the “Actions for Victims of Agent Orange” programme and mobilised nearly VND26 billion (US$1.14 million) for the victims.

It presented gifts worth VND10 billion and 350 wheelchairs to local AO victims while building and repairing 280 houses for them at a total cost of VND5 billion.

According to Tran Lien Kieu, Chairwoman of the association, Can tho is now home to nearly 4,400 AO/dioxin victims, with 2,900 of them receiving allowances and social insurance.
