Can Tho ramps up dengue prevention as cases surge past 1,500

VOV.VN - Can Tho city is facing a sharp rise in dengue fever cases, with more than 1,500 infections reported so far this year, up over 300 from the same period in 2024.

Municipal authorities have ordered urgent measures to detect, treat, and contain outbreaks, aiming to prevent the disease from spreading further.

The municipal Department of Health has been tasked with ensuring sufficient medicine, equipment, and personnel, while guiding medical facilities in surveillance, prevention, and treatment.

Schools are required to step up environmental sanitation, mosquito eradication, and larva control, as well as integrate dengue prevention into extracurricular activities.

Additionally, communication campaigns will be expanded across communities, mobilizing the participation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, mass organizations, and residents in environmental cleanup and larva elimination efforts.
