Can Tho hospital receives French ODA-funded equipment

The General Hospital of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on January 14 received a package of advanced health equipment, which was part of a project funded by the French Government.

Hospital director Le Quang Vo said that the project has been implemented since 2013, with the total investment of approximately EUR22 million, of which EUR19.5 million comes from France’s official development assistance (ODA).

Accordingly, the hospital is equipped with over 3,000 advanced machines, including a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner, a computerised tomography (CT) scanner, a Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) machine, and dialysis machines.

Vo stated that the equipment will help the 500-bed Can Tho General Hospital become a specialised medical centre for the entire Mekong Delta region.

Looking forward, the hospital will focus on improving the quality and efficiency of diagnosis and treatment for patients in Can Tho and throughout the region.
