The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) on January 15 issued a press release, once again affirming that it did not received any notice of flights to Chu Thap (Fiery Cross) Reef in Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago from the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
The CAAV confirms it has checked and rechecked all dispatches, correspondences, faxes, emails and telegraphs from all units listed in the Aeronautical Information Package. And it has checked and rechecked the telephone call histories of all of Vietnam’s air traffic service providers.
It also reiterated the statements by the Foreign Ministry spokesman that Vietnam affirms its indisputable sovereignty over Truong Sa and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagoes.
Chinese airplanes’ recent activities have violated Vietnam’s sovereignty and flight safety rules as stipulated in the 1994 Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation and relevant provisions, the CAAV said.
