Ca Mau proposes funding priority for climate change projects
The Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau has proposed the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to fast-track allocation of the funding for three local climate change response projects.
They are part of the Support Programme to Response to Climate Change in Vietnam (SP-RCC).
The projects have long-term benefits that will lessen effects of climate change and sea level rise, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development To Quoc Nam said, adding that they will not only ensure the safety of local residents and their properties but also protect the distinctive ecosystem of the provincial mangrove forests.
In addition, the embankments along the East Sea coast will help protect national security.
