Building for OVs in Cambodia inaugurated
(VOV) - The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), in co-ordination with the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Cambodia, inaugurated a multipurpose building for Overseas Vietnamese at a ceremony in Siem Reap on October 4.
The project, sponsored by BIDV, covers a total area of 1,766 sq.m with an investment capital of US$800,000.
The building includes two classrooms, two vocational training classrooms, a healthcare room, a communal culture house and a library. It also feature an outdoor capacity for 500 people.
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Men Som Ol noted the house’s meaningful contribution to celebrating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic relations.
The project will help OVs and Cambodians reinforce their relationship and have access to high-quality education and training.
BIDV has already contributed millions of US dollars to social welfare activities and the poor in Cambodia. Its initiatives include building schools, providing aid to flood victims, and financing the annual activities of the Cambodian Red Cross Society.
