According to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the procession through central Hanoi is expected to draw large numbers of Buddhist followers and residents.
It will help spread compassion, peace and a compassionate way of life within the community through the sacred spiritual significance of the procession.
The ceremony will provide Buddhist followers and residents with an opportunity to pay respects to the Buddha sarira with sincerity while offering prayers for national peace, social harmony and the well-being of the people.
Alongside events in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City will also host a series of large-scale activities marking Vesak 2570.
