VOV.VN - After four days of enshrinement and public veneration, a solemn farewell ceremony for the sacred sarira of the Buddha was held on the afternoon of June 2 at Quan The Am Pagoda in Ngu Hanh Son district, central Da Nang city.

The ceremony attracts the participation of a large number of Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns, and devotees. Da Nang is the final stop in the Vietnam leg of the sacred relic’s journey, lasting from May 2 to June 2.

Addressing the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, standing vice president of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Council, prays for world peace and calls on everyone to unite in building a brighter future together. He also wishes for a prosperous and peaceful Vietnam.

According to the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Da Nang, the presence of the Buddha’s relic in various provinces and cities across Vietnam over the past month is a major religious event and a rare spiritual blessing.
