Bridge Collapse: Truck and motorbikes submerged in HCM City river

VOV.VN - Long Kien Bridge in Ho Chi Minh City collapsed suddenly on the evening of January 19, with many vehicles plunging into the river.

Long Kien Bridge collapsed abruptly when a truck transporting construction materials was making a crossing at 9.45pm on January 19.

The truck and several motorbikes using the bridge were plunged into the river. Many divers were mobilized to the scene to rescue victims.

Police cordon off the surrounding area.

Rescue forces work through the night as they recover the victims.

The collapsed bridge is located approximately 10km from the centre of HCM City.

Long Kien Bridge is more than 100m long. It was built long ago and has been in poor condition for some time.
