Binh Duong sees 95% of labourers return to work after Tet
VOV.VN - As of February 22, over 95% of labourers in the northern province of Binh Duong have returned to work after the Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet.
Trade unions at all levels, along with workers in the province, have strictly implemented regulations regarding COVID-19 prevention and control efforts. This has seen inspection groups set up to ensure relevant measures are closely observed.
Local enterprises have also sprayed disinfectant at working places and strictly followed the 5K message issued by the Ministry of Health.
Approximately 200 enterprises throughout the province are in the process of looking for a total of 42,000 new workers. As a result of this demand Binh Duong Employment Service Center has strengthened its own recruitment activities and has organized two job transaction sessions each month as a means of meeting the demand of local firms.
This comes after Binh Duong deducted roughly VND14 billion from the province’s budget in order to present Tet gifts to more than 500,000 workers who were unable to return home to celebrate the festive period, in addition to those in special disadvantaged circumstances.
The provincial Labor Confederation also raised a total of VND1.8 billion from various enterprises and benefactors in order to help workers who have been impacted by COVID-19.
