Binh Duong culls over 39,000 pigs due to African swine fever
VOV.VN - The southern province of Binh Duong has been forced to cull more than 39,000 pigs as a result of the increasing number of African swine fever (ASF) outbreaks occurring in the locality.

During the tenth session of Binh Duong’s People’s Council (ninth tenure) on July 25, delegates raised questions regarding preventive measures and support policies to limit any losses for pig-farming households with dead pigs.
Pham Van Bong, director of the Binh Duong Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that in order to deal with the complicated developments of the epidemic, the province has allocated funding of VND333 billion to implement ASF control measures.
At present, localities in the province have disbursed more than VND30 billion in support of households and pig farms.
The local agricultural sector are set to focus on raising awareness among pig-farming households about deploying bio-safety breeding measures , spray disinfectants at breeding facilities under the procedures as stipulated by current regulations in order to prevent the further spread of the disease, Bong added.
