Belgium lauds Vietnamese community’s COVID-19 fighting efforts
VOV.VN - Mayor Christos Doulkeridis of Ixelles municipality in Brussels has praised members of the local Vietnamese community for their contributions to the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic ahead of receiving a delivery of medical masks from the General Union of Vietnamese in Belgium.

This comes after Huynh Cong My, president of the General Union of Vietnamese in Belgium, presented a haul of 1,200 medical masks to the authorities of Ixelles municipality, an area which is home to a large number of Vietnamese residents.
Mayor Doulkeridis expressed his great appreciation for the meaningful gift offered by the Vietnamese community, saying that Vietnamese people represent an indispensable part of Belgium as a whole and are an important part to life in Ixelles.
The Mayor also highlighted the awareness shown by the Vietnamese community regarding the pandemic by implementing preventive measures, thereby affirming the community’s integration into life in Belgium through many generations.
As part of the occasion, Mayor Doulkeridi also urged people who have been invited for vaccinations to continue obeying regulations for the safety of society.
