Bamboo Airways repatriates 290 VN citizens from Central Europe

VOV.VN - Vietnam’s Bamboo Airways on November 21 conducted a flight repatriate 290 Vietnamese citizens stranded in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Austria due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Passengers on board the flight were minors under 18, sick people, students who had completed training courses, guest workers whose labour contracts had expired, and other special cases.

The Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic sent staff to Vaclav Havel International Airport in Prague to assist the citizens with necessary procedures before their departure.

Bamboo Airways strictly implemented security, safety, and epidemiological measures during the flight to ensure the passengers’ health and prevent the possible spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

As soon as the planes landed at Can Tho International Airport on November 22, all crew members and passengers underwent medical supervision and were transferred to quarantine facilities in line with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.

Vietnamese agencies are arranging similar repatriation flights in the near future to bring home Vietnamese citizens stranded overseas according to their wishes as well as the epidemic situation and quarantine capacity in the country.
