VOV.VN - Many flights both to and from Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City are likely to either be canceled, delayed for several hours, or forced to land at another airport due to gusty winds and rainy conditions around the airport lasting from May 25 to May 29.
According to the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), at least seven flights were unable to make landings at Tan Son Nhat Airport between May 16 and May 21 due to heavy rains and strong winds.
This has caused a mass delay of departing flights, leading to all seats in Tan Son Nhat Airport’s waiting lounges fully occupied over recent days.
From mid-May annually the southern region enters the rainy season, resulting in more frequent adverse weather phenomena for flight operations.
The unpredictable weather conditions typically force many flights to be delayed for several hours or canceled in order to ensure absolute safety for passengers.
