Local authorities said that at that time, five people were sleeping inside the house, with only one person managing to escape.
The four victims were identified as Nong Can Cha, 41; Cha’s wife, 43; Cha’s daughter-in-law, 18; and Cha’s newborn grandchild.

Upon receiving news of the incident, recue forces were mobilised at the scene to search for the victims. However, the four were all dead when being found.
The district has experienced spells of heavy rains over recent days, causing soil at the hill to loosen and fall.
This morning, local leaders arrived at the site to direct the response work, overcome the consequences of the landslide, and support the victims' family.
Earlier, on May 22, three members in a family were also found dead after their house was buried in a landslide in the northern mountainous province of Bac Kan's Ngan Son district.
