Artefacts, documents sought for press museum

The Vietnam Journalists Association (VJA) has launched a drive to encourage the donation of documents and artefacts to the Vietnam Press Museum.

At the launching ceremony in the central coastal city of Danang on September 22, representatives from 14 journalist association in the central and Central Highlands regions handed over 4,000 items to the museum.

Deputy Chairman of the VJA Mai Duc Loc said the donated objects and documents have shed some light on the development history of Vietnam’s revolutionary press while sending out a message to younger generations of Vietnamese journalists on upholding the tradition of their predecessors.

The drive to collect documents, artifacts and photos is one of the four activities in the Vietnam Press Museum Scheme, which was approved by the Prime Minister in August 2014.

The Vietnam Press Museum in Hanoi has been added to the master plan on the national museum system by 2020.
