Another 350 Vietnamese citizens brought home from Japan, US

VOV.VN - More than 350 Vietnamese citizens stranded in the United States and Japan due to COVID-19 have been brought home safely by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines.

The plane touched down at Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa province, central Vietnam, on October 30, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On board the repatriation flight were minors under 18, the elderly, sick people, guest workers whose labour contracts had expired, students who had finished their courses, and other special cases.

The representative Vietnamese agencies in the United States and Japan worked closely with relevant agencies of the host countries to assist the citizens with travel and necessary procedure before their departure.

Vietnam Airlines implemented necessary epidemiological measures during the flight to prevent possible spread of the virus.

All passengers and crew members were medically examined and quarantined according to regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control as soon as the plane landed at Cam Ranh airport.

Vietnamese airlines have so far conducted plenty of repatriation flights to bring home tens of thousands of Vietnamese citizens stranded overseas, inclulding those from the United States and Japan.

Vietnamese authorities are arranging more repatriation flights to bring home more Vietnamese citizens stranded overseas in accordance with the epidemic situation and isolation capacity in the country.
