An OV helps to build bridge in Quang Binh

Ngo Hung Lam, an Overseas Vietnamese (OV) businessman in Japan, has donated VND100 million to build a bridge for children to go to school in the central province of Quang Binh.

Lam gave the sum to representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan on November 16.

Addressing the ceremony, Vietnamese ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh thanked Lam for his heart-felt support to Vietnamese children in the homeland.

The money will be transferred to a fund raised by Dan Tri, an online newspaper, for building the bridge in Trong Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district.

Ngo Hung Lam, Vice President of the Vietnamese Association in Japan, currently runs a flower market in Japan. He has taken part in many activities to help the fatherland such as offering gifts to Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin victims and fundraisers encouraging education.

Lam intends to mobilize funds to build schools in poor areas of Vietnam in the near future.
