The handover was coordinated by the Border Guard Station of Vinh Xuong International Border Gate under the Border Guard Command of An Giang Province together with relevant authorities.

The repatriated citizens mainly hold permanent residency in northern, central, Central Highlands, and southwestern provinces of Vietnam. They had entered Cambodia through various border gates at different times. 

Initial verification showed that the individuals who had travelled to Cambodia for work through various border gates at different times were deported by Cambodia’s General Department of Immigration under the Ministry of Interior for violating Cambodian regulations on immigration, labour, and residency.

Immediately after receiving the citizens, border guard forces coordinated with relevant agencies to conduct health checks, medical declarations, and initial legal procedures.

The 137 individuals were later transferred to the Immigration Management Division under the An Giang Provincial Police for further verification and handling in accordance with Vietnamese law.

Notably, during the screening and verification process, the border guard force also detected and arrested wanted individual Ngo Van Dai from north-central Thanh Hoa province.

He was wanted for “illegal detention” and “disturbing public order” under wanted notices issued by the Investigation Police Agency of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police in January and March 2026.

Authorities are completing procedures to transfer the wanted man to Thanh Hoa police for further legal proceedings.

57 Vietnamese citizens repatriated from Cambodia

The Border Guard Command of Dong Thap, in coordination with relevant agencies, on November 13 received 57 Vietnamese citizens handed over by Cambodian authorities, the second repatriation of this kind this year through Mekong Delta province.
