Vietnam receives 33 citizens repatriated from Cambodia

VOV.VN - The An Giang provincial Border Guard Command, together with relevant agencies, received 33 Vietnamese citizens repatriated by Cambodia at Tinh Bien International Border Gate on April 29.

The individuals, from various localities, had illegally entered Cambodia via different routes and at different times. 

According Cambodia's General Department of Immigration under the Ministry of Interior, they were involved in illegal activities, detained and deported to Vietnam through diplomatic channels.

During the handover, border guards also apprehended an individual who is wanted by Vietnamese police.

The suspect, Trinh Quang Khai, born in 1994, from Cu Chi commune, Ho Chi Minh City. Khai, wanted for intentionally inflicting injury, fled to Cambodia in 2022. 

The An Giang Border Guard Command is currently coordinating with relevant agencies to continue investigations and complete legal procedures before transferring the suspect for prosecution in accordance with the law.

The remaining citizens are undergoing legal procedures in coordination with their local authorities and will be returned to their hometowns after completion of administrative processing.
