Ambassador desires VOV launch ‘Today’s Ireland’ broadcasts
VOV.VN - An Irish delegation led by Ireland Ambassador to Vietnam Cait Moran on March 17 met with members and staff of Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) at the special invitation of its Deputy General Director Vu Hai.
In his opening remarks at the reception, Deputy General Director Hai noted VOV is celebrating its 70th anniversary and is now one of the main media organs of the government of Vietnam.
VOV, he said, is a convergence of four types of media including radio, television and newspapers, both hardcopy and online.

We recently increased the number of television networks to 16, said Mr Hai, and our online news is one of the leading newspapers in the nation in terms of traffic where readers can get complete, accurate and news as timely as on television or radio.
Ambassador Moran noted the meeting comes on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Vietnam-Ireland diplomatic relations and explained a major purpose of the visit was to enhance cultural, tourism, trade and business exchanges.

On the occasion, the Irish diplomat presented VOV with Irish traditional music discs and a film series on Ireland’s struggle for national independence 100 years ago. She hoped VOV would broadcast some of the films.
She invited Mr Hai and a delegation to visit Ireland and said she hopes VOV will air programming on ‘Today’s Ireland’ to help Vietnamese people gain a better understanding of the Irish people and their rich cultural heritage.
