All four Vietnamese students win medals at International Olympiad in Informatics

VOV.VN - All four Vietnamese students have won medals, including two gold, one silver, and one bronze at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2024 in Egypt, the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) said on September 6.

They all are from High School for Gifted Students of University of Science (HUS) under Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Their outstanding performance helped Vietnam to finish among top four alongside the United States, Japan, and Poland, according to the MoET.

The 36th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) got underway in Egypt from September 1 to 6, attracting the participation of 353 contestants from 91 countries and territories worldwide.

In 2023, Vietnam was among nine countries and territories with the highest results at the Olympiad with one gold, two silver, and one bronze.

Vietnam has sent representatives to the competition since 1989. So far, a total of 121 local contestants have brought home 21 gold, 51 silver, and 54 bronze medals.
