Additional helicopter sorties planned to transport relief supplies to flood victims
VOV.VN - The Rescue Department under the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army is expected to carry out four additional helicopter sorties on July 25 to transport relief supplies to flood-stricken communities in Nghe An province, one of the areas hardest hit by typhoon Wipha.

Many remote and mountainous areas in western Nghe An remain completely cut off due to severe flooding and landslides, making ground access impossible. In response, the military has mobilised helicopters to airlift emergency aid to affected residents.
Several villages in communes such as My Ly, Nhon Mai, Muong Tip, and Muong Ai are still isolated as roads were heavily damaged and impassable.
Two relief flights were carried out on July 23, with one helicopter departing from Hoa Lac airport (Hanoi) and the other from Vinh airport (Nghe An). A total 18 tonnes of relief supplies including instant noodles, dry food, drinking water, medicine, and other necessities were transported to communities in the isolated areas.
According to the latest report on the impact of typhoon Wipha, floods in Nghe An have left three people dead, one missing, and four injured. More than 450 houses have been damaged and nearly 3,800 submerged. Four suspensions have been washed away by floodwaters.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province issued an appeal for donations to support those affected by the typhoon and subsequent flooding.
