50,000 converge on Cao Dai Holy See to mark the sect’s centenary anniversary
VOV.VN - Approximately 50,000 recently flocked to Cao Dai Holy See in south-western Tay Ninh province to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Caodaism.
Speaking at the ceremony held on November 14, Master Thuong Tam Thanh, head of the Cao Dai Holy See, expressed gratitude to the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, and Tay Ninh province for their ongoing support and for creating favourable conditions for the Holy See to operate in accordance with the law.
The Tay Ninh Cao Dai Holy See consistently exemplifies adherence to the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws, and collaborates with people nationwide to build a prosperous and happy life, he noted.
To date, he said the Cao Dai sect has more than three million followers in the country, living harmoniously within the community of ethnic groups, with 451 Holy Houses and 173 temples dedicated to Buddha established across 39 provinces and cities. These places continue to be constructed and upgraded, providing followers with appropriate venues for their religious practices.
Taking the floor, Vu Hoai Bac, head of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, extended congratulations to the dignitaries, officials, and all Cao Dai followers on their special occasion. He affirmed that after 100 years since its establishment, the Tay Ninh Cao Dai Holy See has continually strengthened, developed, and grown in all aspects, fostering unity and a spirit of commitment to the nation.
He praised the Holy See for its active engagement in national patriotic movements and cultural development, saying the Holy See has encouraged all dignitaries, officials, and followers to uphold ethics and traditional values, engage enthusiastically in production, comply with the laws of the State, fulfill their civic duties, enhance community solidarity, and participate actively in charitable initiatives to assist the poor and those in difficult circumstances.
Bac expressed his hope that in the coming time, all dignitaries, officials, and followers of the Cao Dai sect would continue to promote their noble traditions, effectively implement the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies, and further enhance patriotic movements and campaigns.
He encouraged them to unite to build the church, and carry out their religious practices in harmony with the nation, following the motto “The nation thrives, the faith shines.”
The grand celebration is an opportunity for all dignitaries, officials, and followers of the sect to offer incense and express their reverence for the Supreme Deity and other divine beings. It is also a time to remember the contributions of the early founders of the religion and to pray for favourable weather, national stability, and the well-being and happiness of all families.
At the same time, this occasion serves as a reminder to the dignitaries, officials, and followers to uphold and promote the traditions of the religion.
