37 hospitalized in Ho Chi Minh City after eating banh mi
VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Department has collected samples for testing to determine the cause of 37 people being hospitalized with suspected food poisoning after eating banh mi (Vietnamese baguette).

Among the hospitalized cases, 34 were students, along with one young child and two adults.
The students, from Tan Tuc Secondary School in Binh Chanh District, had gone on a trip to Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11 and bought banh mi from a shop in District 6 to take along.
Competent agencies in District 6 have collected samples from the shop for testing to identify the cause.

Dr. Tran Chanh Xuan, director of District 11 Hospital, reported that on March 29, the hospital admitted 37 emergency cases related to banh mi consumption, including 33 students aged 13-15, a six-year-old child, and three adults.
Two cases were hospitalized at the Pediatrics Department, while the remaining patients received emergency treatment, prescriptions, and were discharged for home monitoring.
The suspected food poisoning cases were treated with antibiotics, fluid replacement, and symptom management.
